Project Overview

The Shenzhen Shenfubao Technology Eco-Park Capacity Expansion Project (Phase II) is located in Pingshan District, Shenzhen. It is contracted by China Construction Steel Structure Engineering Corporation Ltd. and is a key project invested and controlled by the Shenzhen municipal government, with a total gross floor area of 118,900 m². As an important node in Shenzhen’s efforts to promote intensive use of land resources and advance “industrial upward” (high-rise industrial buildings), the project features large spans, large storey heights, and high load-bearing capacity.

Recently, the project achieved a major milestone – the successful completion of the joint acceptance inspection. The project adopted GETO’s customised GT-48 lightweight early-dismantling industrial formwork system, becoming the first industrial upward project in China to apply the aluminium formwork early-dismantling technology on a large scale at a storey height of 10.5 metres.

 

 

Project Characteristics

1. Varying storey heights, extremely difficult high-formwork construction

The above-ground storey heights vary significantly:

  • 1st–2nd floors: 10.5 metres
  • 3rd–6th floors: 6.0 metres
  • 7th floor to roof: 4.5 metres

The project required full aluminium formwork construction for the above-ground structure. The 10.5‑metre high-formwork construction using aluminium formwork with early‑dismantling technology is extremely rare in China.

 

2. Large column dimensions, high strengthening difficulty

The large spans and high load‑bearing requirements resulted in large column cross‑sections, placing high demands on the lateral load‑bearing capacity of the formwork and the strengthening system.

 

3. Limited site space and tight construction schedule

The construction site was narrow, restricting material storage and equipment placement. At the same time, the overall schedule was tight, and conventional aluminium formwork support methods could not meet the requirements.

 

 

GETO Solution

GETO was deeply involved from the early stage, completing the entire process from contract award to material delivery for the first construction area in just 20 days. A customised comprehensive solution was developed for different storey heights:

1. High storey height areas (10.5m and 6.0m)

The “cup-lock scaffold + adapter + early-dismantling aluminium formwork” method was adopted, with a fully covered working platform:

  • Cup-lock scaffolds provided a stable high‑formwork support system
  • Custom adapters enabled a smooth transition between the cup‑lock scaffold and the aluminium formwork
  • The fully covered working platform solved safety issues for high‑formwork construction while meeting material storage needs

 

2. Conventional storey height areas (4.5m)

The “independent support + early-dismantling aluminium formwork” method was used, achieving full aluminium formwork early‑dismantling construction and improving formwork turnover efficiency.

 

3. Technical innovation and detailed design

  • GETO worked with the project team using its proprietary detailed design software to optimise the building structure and construction methods
  • Through the development of dedicated adapters and innovative construction techniques, a seamless integrated early‑dismantling system combining cup‑lock scaffolds and aluminium formwork was achieved
  • This solution represents China’s first large‑scale integrated cup‑lock and aluminium formwork early‑dismantling case for high‑formwork applications, creating a new model for aluminium formwork use in the high‑formwork field

 

4. Green and efficient construction

  • On‑site turnover and reuse of aluminium formwork reduced construction waste and lowered subsequent patching and grinding costs
  • Full‑process, multi‑trade coordinated and interleaved construction eliminated idle working faces, making process connections tighter and resource allocation more balanced
  • Material, labour and waste disposal costs were saved, providing strong support for early project completion
